design was done together with Sin (http://sineng.blogspot.com/) for SO-ME, it is aimed at intellectualizing fashion by addressing significant issues, such as AIDS, Global warming, racism, hate crimes etc.
the theme for this year Muji Design Award is Re-, re-use, re-create, re-cycle... my idea was to create something else using their classic design, the wall mounted CD player but transformed into a wall fans. i like it a lot but didn't win anything.:P perhaps it's not "Muji" enough.
Kuanth counts art and design as his absolute passion.
After toiling for five years in the publishing and advertising industries, Kuanth took a bold step forward to become a freelance illustrator in 2002. He also went on to sew some clothes, make a few dolls, daydream a little (a lot), exhibit some work and raise a lovely boy named Noody (woof!).
Kuanth loves old stuff with a story and flea markets are his favourite treasure-hunting wonderland for gems and inspirations. Kuanth also appreciates all things handmade especially crafts passed on from generation to generation.
With his passion for food, Kuanth opened a homely and quirky cafe called Caramel with a few of his best friends, serving hearty homemade food and offering a selection of handpicked vintage products from his many jaunts for the past three years.
Kuanth lives a simple life and he's loving it.
